GOD'S DREAMS FOR YOU - 1

May these brief reflections inspire you to give Christ all you thoughts time and talents.

A GREAT MAN

Significantly inconspicuous in general history is Adoniram Judson (1788-1850). Yet this American Baptist was a giant among men.

Judson had been endowed with a great intellectual ability but no parallel faith. Yet one night alone (after completing university) in 1809 God spoke to Adoniram. God had a destiny for him. (God will leave no man alone who would do His will.)

The very next morning he gave his life to Jesus. 3 years later he finally found an open door to Rangoon, Burma. He baptised his first convert on June 27, 1819.

For 38 years Judson served Jesus in Burma. He faced privations difficult to understand. Rejection, loneliness, imprisonment and losing children. However by the time he died, there were 210,000 christians in Burma (1 in every 58 Burmese). Adoniram was a man who heard 'well done good and faithful servant'.

A GREAT TRUTH

• God does not make that which He does not want. He delights in me, desires my company and is very deliberate with me. He has dreams for me.

• Plan to please His dreams. There is a great lie - that I can choose better for me than God can. He INVITES you to make His pleasure your pleasure.

• '.... find out what pleases the Lord....'- Eph 5:10
