5 Ways to Catch a Drifting Faith#

You may have just victoriously gone through a great crisis, but now be alert about the things that may appear to be the least likely to tempt you. Beware of thinking that the areas of your life where you have experienced victory in the past are now the least likely to cause you to stumble and fall. (Oswald Chambers)

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. (Proverbs 16:18)

Five ways to guard against a drifting soul…

  1. Learn to be content - want what you have, not what you don't have. Contentment is the safe wealth of an uncluttered mind.
  2. Regularly refuse yourself - Mark Twain, everyday do something you don’t want to do. Discipline within the soul then becomes the joy of flesh.
  3. Put down roots in God - cultivate an appetite for God, begin to partake through intimacy not ritual. Jesus died for your heart not just for your hands and head.
  4. Guard your heart - seductions are as hidden as they are dangerous, and as regular as the tide.
  5. Keep your memory bright before God(Oswald Chambers) 'Recall' is a fine food upon the plate of faith.
