All That Is Needed

There are but a few writers I really admire and devour.

I seek them often to fetch full buckets from their wells, or to dine at a table set with their inspired and sweet delights.

Three twentieth century prophets have long held my attention; A.W.PinkA.W.Tozer and Leonard Ravenhill.

Below are merely four cherished cookies from the bake house of Tozer:

  1. Man cannot bore through to God with his intellect. Not all the assembled brains of the world could do it. God can, in one second of time, reveal Himself to the spirit of man. And so the man knows God, but he knows God experientially not intellectually.
  2. Every Christian should be a walking miracle and never be the kind of person who can be explained.
  3. We already have enough organisers; we need men who have met God in the crisis encounter.
  4. If we are going to be a voice in our generation God will guide us down a path where all we have is God.

Isaiah looked into heaven the year that King Uzziah died. He gazed upon unseen spiritual realities, that which really does exist, no mere vapors of the mind. Isaiah saw fantastic supernatural beings, but far more importantly he witnessed God exalted upon His throne. He heard the Lord's question:

"Whom shall I send? And who will go for Us?" - Isaiah's reply, "Here am I. Send me!" (Isaiah 6:5)

Who too is willing to echo Tozer and side with Isaiah, for they have become so undone that the God of the Cross is all they have?

When you discover that God is all you have, you find happiness for then you know that God is all you need.
