The Fraud of Independence.

God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. (1 Peter 5:5b)

Since satan's expulsion from the heavenly halls mankind has stood firm with shoulders held back. Boldly upright they resist wisdom's nudge to fall humbly upon his knees. Grace continues absent. If only we all had not been so slow to learn!

The pride of the human spirit is a wicked taskmaster, it distances all men from the Throne of Grace.

The proud still hear satan's deceits. And, the pioneer of all sin is not lonely. Every moment of every day he repeats to mankind that the power to conquer in life is found within.

All mankind must scuttle their glorious aspirations and lay their trophies down. This is for betterment. But, who listens?

If only I (and mankind) had learned to pray this short prayer so long ago...

O Lord I need you more than:

the days needs the sun

the birds need a sky

the heart hungers for love

the soul longs for a companion

the mouth thirsts for water or

the dust cries for rain.

O Lord I need you this day. Amen

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding own; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

The Last Word:

When all men fall 'naked' before the Light of the World they will see themselves to be so thin.
