Counter-attack Satan

Soul Snack 139/14 ... Satan constructs life as a tennis match. Satan bashes me so that I will return the serve.

In warfare with satan, all the power rests in refusing the counter-attack.

Satan's game-plan is played out across the world every minute of every day. His highest interest is in the multiplication of evil, its perpetuation. (The unending Middle Eastern conflicts exemplify this.)

The Old Testament legislation of an 'eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth' was designed to set fences around retribution, not multiply it. This oft quoted, or rather misquoted axiom carries only a shadow of goodness, a mere hint at righteousness; Jesus will extend it in the New Testament to even 'love your enemies'.

‘You have heard that it was said, “Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth. But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.' (Matthew 5:38-39)

Vengeance is the act of giving your license to evil, authority to the devil. It is dripping fresh blood over his already bloodied hands.

In the Divine economy that is opposites:

God's victories almost always seem like defeats to the natural man. (Rick Joyner)

You will appear to lose by not fighting back, but in fact you have won. To attack another, no matter how justified - either emotionally, verbally or physically, is to further release evil.

I have long been calmed, even chastened, by the Archangel Michael's example in Jude 9, who while in dispute with satan over Moses' body, still refused a return attack on satan.

When an evil response has not been pursued by the disciple, evil is hindered; it is bound and rendered impotent.

The way to return the bite of satan is paradoxically not to return it.

The evil one is defeated when I am not consumed by him.

Satan loses when I live life as a golf game, and not a tennis tournament.
