HANGING IN THERE! ~ A

Every Christian is a long distance runner. Marathons are in fact their life's entree. God knows this, hence He teaches how a disciple should train, so that a disciple's faith will not fatigue.

... let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured from sinners such hostility against Himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted. (Hebrews 12:1-3)

Do not let exhaustion become a victor and permit sin to rule lest it steal your faith.

Choose for strength when you are able - call Heaven for it when you can't.

The Psalmist wrote how he 'hangs in there', repeat these verses out loud, or inwardly to yourself:

  • Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His presence continually! (Psalm 105:4)
  • My soul melts away for sorrow; strengthen me according to Your word! (Psalm 119:28)
  • On the day I called, You answered me; my strength of soul You increased. (Psalm 138:3)

'There are no crown-wearers in heaven that were not first cross-bearers here below.' ~ Charles Spurgeon
