Hitting Halloween Hard
Where is the sage, who is the oracle to these times?
Who can discern darkness within light?
Where is the wise watchman who speaks up?
All that glitters is not gold - equally, not all that is popular is worthy of celebration.
Did you know these three tough facts about Halloween?
- Originally Halloween was an ancient Celtic fire festival of the dead named Samhain, celebrated annually on October 31st.
- Samhain was the fourth, brightest and most energetic of the annual Celt fire festivals. Dancing around and leaping through the flames would supposedly guarantee a good harvest.
- Central to Halloween was the celebration of the dead. The Celts would put out food and drink for the dead with great ceremony. Homes were left open so the dead had unhindered access, as swarms of spirits flowed into the world on October 31st.
Each year, for twenty-four hours, the western world capitulates and embraces the darkest of nights.
It is in darkness that the true condition must remain unseen.
Ignorantly men in darkness imagine they enjoy fun of daylight.
Halloween is literally making acceptable the unacceptable.
When darkness is celebrated, the dead are honored and indulgence is promoted. It then becomes clear to those who see, that this festival is not seeded in light.
When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn. (Isaiah 8:19-20)
That which meets the growing approval of the world (a world under the rule of the prince of the air) is NOT going to meet the approval of God. This is the very first indicator that Halloween is not acceptable.
Haunted houses, skulls and crossbones, vampires and skeletons are images of fear not fun.
Halloween is satan's not-so-frivolous joust into mankind's unwitting soul. It is a gentler, unfelt piercing that honors evil and ignores the Light of the World.
