The Prince of Paradise - A

Soul Snack 82/12 ... The Prince of Paradise - A

All forms of vegetation abounded in Eden and surrounded Adam. Shamelessly he walked naked through his own brand new paradise. The verdant grasses, the rich colours and the pleasant sounds adorned his every sense.

His permanent presence was already secured by obedience to God's good, clear and uncomplicated instruction. God only gave Adam one rule!

And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die." Gen 2:16-17

This was THE most basic and simple guidance. It was not confusing. There were no extra instructions that may cause misunderstanding. There was no middleman who may relay the message inaccurately. Neither was Eden a garden of media-misinformation. This was an unadulterated paradise with an equally unambiguous command.

With only this instruction to obey I would have naively guessed that Adam should get this correct!

Adam literally walked with God, he ruled paradise and after Eve's creation he even had no needs.

So why did he sin?

Adam ate from the wrong tree because he simply listened to another voice.

Only those who listen to the Tree of Life will ever be able to discern the voice of death.
