Does your flesh scream for your attention?
The flesh does not accept the spirit. It brooks no competitors and permits no divided allegiance. The carnal resists the spiritual, demanding its submission..
The flesh is life's howling tiger that is to be starved, denying it the life-consuming delicacies on offer. The delights of the eyes and the dalliances of the heart seek to distract from and even delete the appeals of heaven.
With a voracious appetite the flesh roars even louder across the times of stress.
There is a constant war between the spirit and the flesh; yet only one is eternal and only one should be sown to.
Sow to the spirit, feed on the Spirit and dwell on the Lord so that the raucous bellows of earth don't drown out the soothing whispers of heaven.
Choose this day who you will serve - the flesh or the spirit!
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. (Phil 4:8)
