Living A Billiard Ball Life
The pattern of this world is easy to live with, it blankets the planet. As nationalities take up arms, likewise individuals rise against each other.
The easily offended move sideways with the regularity of a billiard ball bouncing off the table's cushion.
Frequent collisions with another unwanted human cushion, or worse still bumping into brick-walls means I am blindly aimed incorrectly.
Pride becomes the confident position of a serial loser in relationships.
Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult. (Proverbs 12:16)
God seeks to aim me well.
Pride will only point me to loss.
Pride focuses me on continual crashes.

Humility shapes me to a kind avoidance and the offering of grace.
Throughout life there are constant internal treasures such as grace, patience, love, forgiveness and peace available to me. (see Galatians 5:22-23) These will guide well the direction and nature of my relationships. They wait to be taken from God's benevolent, outstretched hands. This eternal bullion is from His heart.
He has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. (2 Peter 1:4)
God desires to empty His heart into my heart, that I may share in His fabric of love.
God's thirst is that I too think the same generous thoughts that created this universe (and me) - His thoughts.
Pride rejects the helpful intervention of God (and also of others). Foolishly it accepts serial crashes by attributing blame regularly to another.
BUT - a renewed mind sees one's own faults.
My mind is as God's when I lay hold of His life-giving, mind transforming Word.
I will know more relational treasures and be injured by far fewer impacts. They are not the pattern of this world, but 'out of this world' - their source is Heaven's perfect heart.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2)
