Lubricating the Mind
Proverbs lubricate a man's thinking and enquire of his soul. They can be soft or sharp truths to dwell upon, to savor as sweet or sour.
Proverbs instruct the simple and wise, thus both gain understanding and prudence. (See Proverbs 1:1-6)
Slip into a SoulSupply proverb or two:
- The times of darkness ebb and flow, while He who is Light still seeks to break in.
- When darkness returns and light has fled, when you can't see the light of tomorrow - look to the light of yesterday.
- Men in desperate times will stagger and fall, but the wise will climb the Rock that is higher and stand.
- Life is as hollow as yesterday is gone. The first can't be filled, nor the other retrieved. Therefore, live only for the audience of One.
- A man's pride is in his honor, but in his grave it is his downfall.
- It is better for a compassionate rich man to meet a poor man, for then poverty shall be exchanged. Yet, who now holds the true wealth?
- It is better to be a man of understanding than a man of greed. The man of understanding will prosper, while the man of greed shall lose even his life.
- It is right for a man to sit alone, for this is how he was formed in the womb and will return to the dust.
When all is said and done - let a man examine his heart, daily remember his maker and honor Him all his days.
