Professors of Unrest

In sleeplessness we guard our possessions, for they are stapled to the soul.

However life is rarely blessed by the abundance of possessions. Life is favored by the abundance of God's presence and His promises.

Many possessions steal life, they are thieves to peace and professors of unrest.

Possessions distract, demand and steal the time and joy that are only found within the Lord's presence.

The abundance, the accumulation of all that brings delights to the eyes promises much pleasure. But they also distract to a far greater loss. In the accumulation of wealth - time, energy, devotion and even earthly relationships are spent.

The price of amassing is far greater than its value.

Accumulation becomes robbery.

In the amassing of possessions or pennies there is no end. The greater the stockplies, the larger the worry. BUT:

simplicity is the mother of joy and the dwelling of peace.

but I press on to take hold of ONLY that for which Christ took hold of me. (Philippians 3:12a)
