Soul Snack 93/13 ... Finding Fear

A scholar I am not; as abundant evidence I leave behind a trail of unnerved yet true scholars who have painfully attempted to educate me. Miraculously during a brief lucid moment these denizens of deep thought were able to explain the word fear to my simple ears - or more accurately phobos; as they labored to distraction at my uncommon stares.

The fear of the Lord to this very day is distilled and diluted into awesome and respect.

The gravity of God's weight and His unchallengeable authority is adulterated and weakened in soft-serve Christian consumerism.

Christians worldwide have bitten into this cozy fruit from the Tree of Knowledge; while the Tree of Life still counsels - fear Him who has the power of the second death (see Lk 12:5). Consider, each tomorrow carries its own fair share of surprize.

A healthy dose of knee-felt trembling before the Divine will correct so many Christian maladies these days.

Husbands will be gentle with their wives, pastors will not lord it over their flocks and brothers will no longer sue brothers; for the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge and the conduit of wisdom.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Prov 1:7)

God is not scared of you but you still need to be scared of Him.
