Saints and Scoffers

Soul Snack 96/11 ... Of Saints and Scoffers

Those who disbelieve petrify their disbelief. Scoffing at the Almighty, maligning His potency, accusing Him of disinterest and even non-existence are the bastions of their cause.

Yet, disbelief is no hindrance to God's activity in this world. It is only a hindrance to man.

The presence of God's activity is continuous. His actions are as countless as the stars are innumerable, but mankind still sits in judgement upon God. Is the poorest and most hurtful of man's judgement that God does not even exist? For any man to do this he must strangle God's implanted truth.

Disbelief misses the panorama of His goodness, while belief ushers in the pleasures of His handiwork.

Disbelief invites a critical emptiness but belief delivers an abundant life.

Disbelief maintains absence from the Throne of Grace yet belief secures the presence that is out of this world.

The scoffer enjoys his indulgent insights and articulate sarcasms while the believer enjoys God 's exceptional thinking now.

Meaning replaces mockery when a scoffer becomes a saint.

The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. (Roms 1:18-19)
