The Apex of Joy
Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. (Psalm 90:14)
When the good Lord has become my song, He has given His eternal satisfaction to me.
To raise my voice in praise to Him, to have His honor upon my lips above all else, will bathe this heart with happiness. This is a simple gift from Him, but the apex of joy for me.
Come near to God and He shall come near to you. (James 4:8)
It is from His unfailing love, His perfect hand of protection and the silent joy of joining with Him in solitude - that my heart is raised in songs of joy. Such gladness will flow through all my days.
It is the man who knows the Lord as his song who is surely released from his shackles; his chains of self-will are unlocked.
When the good Lord has become my song, likewise He has become my strength - for I am no longer chained to obey self.
Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim You, who walk in the light of your presence, O Lord. (Psalm 89:15)
