The Milk Pulpit

Where is the pulpiteer who is also a prophet?

Have pulpits become 'oxygen thieves', offering what Jesus calls 'death' to their listeners?

The church is shaped by the world and not world shaped by the church. Clothed as wisdom or good theology indulgent heresies therefore multiply through-out Christ's body.

Is it correct to be a recipient of fear? Yet, this destructive malaise seeps deeper into my very being and I shudder, NO - quake!

Christendom appears little closer than Babylon to any grasp of righteousness. Christians support sin in the redefined name of 'love'.

I can't escape the fomenting decay to Christ's body that:

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather round them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. (2 Timothy 4:3)

Itching ears are not willing to submit to uncomfortable truths, because their eyes are not first fixed upon Jesus.

Where righteousness is called for today it is resisted and rebuked.

There are too many redeemed souls as ignorant to the pleas of righteousness as the unredeemed world. Where is there obedience that leads to holiness in the pursuit of sin?

Pulpits still only tip the cup of milk to listeners - fearful to challenge the march of immorality, culpably ignorant to the pregnant swells that birth destruction.

Christian men and women alike are now robbed of the truth by corrupt minds. (See 1 Timothy 6:5)

The battle to worship in spirit and truth is being lost. Biblical truth is now further suppressed, and sin is deceitfully brewed within the body of Christ.

How can a pulpit teach the Bible faithfully if it doesn't also examine the world truthfully?

Today's Soul Snippet:

I must realise that my obedience in even the smallest areas of life has all the omnipotent power of the grace of God behind it. - Oswald Chambers
