The Way of the Heart

To the pastors and pupils, the merchants and homemakers, the industrious and lethargic - a plea to those who (even blindly) remain their own lord:
There remains a spreadsheet to life printed with the columns of debits and credits. What balance do you want your balance sheet to display when you meet the Lord?
Measure your deposits, tally your columns, balance the ledger, for the Lord first seeks the reconciliation of your heart.
The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? ‘I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.' (Jeremiah 17:9-10)
The way of the heart is to weigh the heart, for from it the path to eternity is paved.
