Touched By Light#

Maybe you ponder - is there anything I can do about this world's darkness?
Q: How is darkness resisted, indeed pushed back?
A: Light flees darkness.
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1:5)
What can we do about the darkness in this world? Simple ... SHINE!
The only way to dispel darkness in our own small patch is to add light.
We are God's lighthouse. We illuminate dangerous rocks that seek to scuttle others.
Sometimes we observe oncoming collisions, looming ever larger as friends roll headlong to the shoals and the rocks. We shout, then scream and wave in wild abandon. But, they ignore us anyway.
However, don't despair, our shining light may have warmed and warned another traveller for another day. It is these who will steer clear of the crash. Those who ignore the warnings will reap their tragic ends. But that is not our fault, we cannot control their path or destiny. That is God's-space. It is a burden only He can carry. So:
- what if the world around you refuses your light, and the darkness thickens... SHINE ANYWAY
- what if you become sick and your faith weaker still... SHINE ANYWAY
- what if you are surrounded by outstanding Christian models whose flame burns bright and you don't feel worthy... SHINE ANYWAY:
for you see and meet people they don't.#
‘You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven' (Matthew 5:14-16).
