Watering a Soul's Mountains

The human soul wears down as the sole of a shoe. Constant friction destroys both.

When the sun of sadness scorches

and the heart to love withers...

When life's beams become dull

and the soul refuses to bloom...

When each day awakens arid

and future promise is bleak...

When the grasp of hope has long slipped

and the noonday sun fails to rise -

then the parched soul will seek the Lord and live.

As heaven then waters the inner man

The seeds of weeds# will shrivel,

The mind of despair will thrive,

The body of weakness will rise, and

The soul will again gather strength.

There is moisture for the dry soul and rain for any parched spirit.

As with earth's rain a new watering arrives when the heavens are opened. Unlike the rain that raises the crops and multiplies their seeds this rain from heaven is on tap. It is permanently available.

God has planted His seeds# in all hearts that He desires to water.

The good Lord waters the mountains of the soul as He also waters the mountains of the earth...

go to Him, ask Him to turn His tap on.

Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters ... Listen, listen to Me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare. Give ear and come to Me; hear Me, that your soul may live. (Isaiah 55:1-3a)

God is where love begins, but does not end.

# (NOTE - God does not sow seeds that are weeds - the weeds in lives are planted by the evil one.)
