Soul Snack 81/12 ... Winter Christians

The competition between the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge continues unseen and unabated since Eden.

It falsely appears as if the Tree of Life is losing this cosmic contest for attention as the western world pursues knowledge with an equal voracity to its seeking of wealth.

The Tree of Knowledge usurps the Tree of Life - it claims to be a superior substitute. This it did first in Eden when satan deceitfully promised the best life available from its fruit alone. The very first fruit from the Tree of Knowledge was deception. (The second fruit it bore was shame and then the third fruit it bore was blame.) This fruit is still consumed with inexpressible gluttony today across the world and sadly within Christ's bride as well - His church.

The Tree of Knowledge still claims blind-sided Christians - it invites their eating, assuages their spirituality and then confirms their pride. This exists worldwide across Christian pulpits, Bible studies and especially Christian academia. The Tree of Knowledge is eminently successful at hibernating faith.

The Tree of Knowledge paves the path for the Christian to walk from the accumulation of knowledge but the Tree of Life teaches the path is travelled by faith alone.

The Tree of Knowledge has deceived so much of Christendom into becoming winter-Christians neutralising faith, domesticating service and permitting them to a satisfied sleep on the job.

Jesus replied, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” (Lk 9:58)
