Soul Snack 211/11 ... The Rule of Needs

The Tree of Knowledge of good and evil explains that these are my most fundamental needs:

• breath,
• food,
• water,
• sex,
• sleep,
• homeostasis (balance within the body) and
• excretion. #

The Tree of Life explains that these are my most fundamental needs:

• to learn how to pray,
• to thirst for heaven,
• the harmony of silence,
• the peace of God's will,
• the joy of grace,
• the humbling of affliction,
• the strength of the Cross,
• the grace of forgiveness and
• the favor of friends.

The needs of the flesh are to never rule the needs of the spirit.

For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. (1 Tim 4:8)
