Soul Snack 2/12 ... Thirsting Souls

When the sun of sadness scorches

and the heart of love withers,

When the beam of life's light is dulled

and the spirit refuses to bloom,

When each day is arid

and the future promise is bleak.

When the grasp of hope has long slipped,

and the noonday sun fails to rise -

then the parched soul will seek the Lord and live.

As heaven douses the inner person

The seeds of weeds# will shrivel.

The mind of despair will thrive,

The body of weakness will arise and

the soul will again stand strong.

There is a moisture for the dry soul and rain for the parched spirit. As with earth's rain the watering arrives when the heavens are opened. Unlike the rain that raises the crops and multiplies their seeds this rain from heaven is on tap, it arrives at your demand and responds to your commands - it is permanently available.

God has planted His seeds# in all hearts that He desires to water. God waters the mountains of the soul as He also waters the mountains of the earth ... go to Him and ask Him to turn His tap on.

Come, all you who are thirsty,
   come to the waters; ...
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.
Give ear and come to me;
hear me, that your soul may live. (Isaiah 55:1-3a)

# (But God does not sow seeds that are weeds - the weeds in your life are planted by another.)

Today's Soul Snippet:

God is where love begins.
