SOUL SNACK 19 ... When Heaven Smiles

"I waited patiently for the Lord…(He) heard my cry…he lifted me out of the slimy pit…He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God …" PS 40:1-3a

Heaven likes to smile. God honours those who are patient during distress. He gives to His very best to the patient ones, Himself!

Praise is God placing Himself in my heart. To be able to praise Him is His gift to me. (See also Rev 4&5). Praise is heaven on earth. Praise becomes God's release mechanism for a troubled soul. Praise is the song of prayer.

Patience in troubled times permits God to enter my life. It is through His choice and my patience(see also PS 46:10a). It is no accident! (I wonder if absence of praise indicates absence of relationship?)

Surely praise is the outward evidence of an inward relationship. God wants to bring release to the burdens of my soul. Self focus fuels the burdens. God focus releases the burdens. Praise is at its best when I can meet each new day with a song to Him on my lips. When I wake up with praise, heaven is happy, for it is smiling on me! When my first thought of the day is to pray praise, life is full.
