SOUL SNACK 31 ... Naming Rights

"Fear not ... I have summoned you by name, you are mine" Is 43:1c

Authority does not rise as the volume rises!

With increasing loudness, the Kindy teacher vainly tried to gain the attention of this new and sobbing child. "What is his name," she agonised? She knew his name would gain his attention!

Naming in fact, is the verbal pursuit of another. There is power in knowing names. To be named is an invitation to relationship. This is a deliberate choice to relate to another. It usually is the 1st step to attention, acceptance, affirmation and even affection.

The place of safety is entered into when I hear God calling me. He has deliberately singled me out. I am on His mind. I even know He is thinking of me. (How good is that!)

God does not call me to reject me but to accept me! He even knew my name before I did! God names those He wants!
