SOUL SNACK 33 ... A Glorious Goodwill?

Jesus said, "Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing." Luke 23:34

The anecdotal evidence is overwhelming! Families worldwide break. Accusations and condemnations abound . It is so easy to believe ill of another. We are truly ignorant to another's heart.

Are these first words of Jesus from the cross mankind's greatest sadness?

Surely it was ignorance that was the conduit of this crucifixion! Through this world relationships are crucified by misunderstandings. We truly are ignorant to the intentions of another's heart.

The unwanted God had come and lived among men. The creator crucified by the created. Yet this sullied God still prays. This prayer rises through the veil of unspeakable shame and excruciating suffering. He finishes His ministry as He had conducted it. Jesus is in prayer for others.

No pain can ever remove the privilege of prayer. There is no one or no time that is beyond the reach of prayer. Here Christ prays for you long before you knew Him. This man, the most misunderstood man of history prays into our ignorance. He still wants the best for the ignorant. He wants forgiveness available to all. His glory had been stolen yet His goodwill had not.
