SOUL SNACK 111/11 ... The Bite of Satan - 2

“The Lord God commanded the man, you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil…..she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate it" (Gen 2:16 & 3:6b)

It is always God's intentions to protect. He speaks wise words of protection over an innocent and simple Adam, in a perfect Eden.

But, a perfect Eden will be challenged. It is not to be lost. Not even persistent poison can penetrate God's canopy. Only distrust in God can do this. 

A mute Adam and a gullible Eve so co-operatively extend their forearms. The fangs rise and then descend. The venom is in. Who could believe this? Eden invaded by evil! How dangerous this venom of distrust is.

Gardens are a sanctuary for snakes with food, shelter & warmth in abundance. Unseen in the foliage, their poison is delivered professionally and perfectly.

It is so difficult to see venom injected into the ears. Yet this is how the snake operates; a small and gentle persuasive voice of distrust. This dalliance with the devil spreads sufficient poison to infect all the world. Not a bad strike rate from a very brief chat between a gullible female, an acquiescing male and one snake.

Poured poison is in all our souls. It is to drive us from the father. Yet He still speaks the powerful words of protection. His intentions have not changed. “ Do not give satan a foothold." (Eph 4:27)
