SOUL SNACK 8 ... Searching For Goodness

"Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the Lord has been good to you." Ps 116:7

The blame game is big business in this world. Consistently the press spews blame on all who would create a sale for them. Daily the media acclimatizes us to the negative, with unhealthy repetition.

It is easy to cast blame. It is equally easy to be blind to blessings.

We worship the God of the Cross. He is a long-suffering God (Jer 15:15). How often does He receive our dis-interest or even blame?

God's desire is for us to rest. That's great! This meshes exactly with what I want too. The apportioning of blame is a rest destroyer. Accusing others destroys our own peace.

Satan is the great accuser! In accusing we are engaged in his work. No wonder we lose peace. Condemning, complaining, and criticizing are the fruit of a soul that knows little peace.

Blessing is received by those who believe in God's goodness towards them. This goodness is already received, '...for the Lord HAS been good to you.'

Looking for God's received goodness in our lives is surely His gripe removing tool. It is His path for our rest.
