Soul Snack 142/11 ... Fraud & Faith

Adam and Eve hid, and we have all used them as role models.#

Adam and Eve hid from God in Eden after that first sin. (See Gen 3:8)

Jacob hid under fur pretending to be his brother Esau to receive his father's blessing. (See Gen 37)

Jonah failed at hiding from God on and then in the Mediterranean.

Hiding from God, reality, self or others remains a most popular pass-time for all humans.

Hiding is located in the self-belief that if I am fully known it is to my disadvantage. Pretence then becomes personal power in relationships (both vertical and horizontal relationships) -- deceit must then become the daily modus operandi. The personal script then reads like this ... I cannot be approved for who I am but only whom I present. This is fraud!

Yet as with Adam in paradise, Jacob at the Jabbok and Jonah the submariner, God still calls out to those who hide, indulge pretence and know self-fear ...

O Lord thankyou that I can't flee you or hide from you. Please free me from who I have made me to be to be whom you have made. AMEN

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! (1 Jn 3:1)

Today's Soul Snippet:

Jesus cups His torn hands to warm your worn heart.
