Soul Snack 45/11 ...The Art of Escape

Escapism is the attempt to divert attention from an unpleasant reality according to Wikipedia. There must be some truth to this definition.

Escape artists have long entertained with daring-do and foolhardiness. Both excitement and relief flow through the audience with each successful exit and escape.

Yet from the rules of life, (which really are the rules from heaven) there is no escape. No sleight of hand, no hidden panelling or even audience naivety will deliver the escape route. Illusions found of life and death are just that - illusions.

A young woman once explained to me that she had no intention of doing. (Ahh - the naivety of the young.) I questioned her as to how she would achieve this popular goal. Her reply was as short as it was helpful - I don't know!

In death life is departed, but still there is no escape from the authority of God given to His Son. The unpleasant reality of judgement is guaranteed. This is not illusory; Jesus rose from the dead and is the judge of all men.

For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man. (John 5:26-27)

Surrender to the authority of Jesus while alive and escape His judgements after death.
