Soul Snack 95 ... Correctly Confident

"I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth." Job 19:25.

Sad wooden chairs dotted the immediate landscape. Only 4 were occupied. Feet shuffled aimlessly on this dusty floor. Courtesy was apparent, but goodwill was absent. Job received no help. The maudlin room and furniture so apt for this interchange.

Bildad the Shuhite, Eliaphaz the Temanite and Zophar the Naamanite were friends who failed. Job's enemies surely would have spoken more kindly to him than his friends. It is second nature to look down on a brother in distress. It is first nature to not even realise I do it.

Surrounded by the critically unhelpful Job's suffering was guaranteed to multiply. Job received neither correct and wise counsel, nor a supportive ear.

Yet Job's confidence would not be assuaged. No verbal blow successful.

Boldness and promise permeate his self defense.

Dependence and rescue underwrite his thoughts.

The warm glow of a preferred future arriving surrounds his reflections.

His conviction of this brighter future, rock solid.

The day will arrive when the author of his future will be visible. Truth will be tangible. Redemption received.

This knowledge is as much to be lived for as to be lived by.
