SOUL SNACK 87 ... Jesus' way

'So he (Zacchaeus) ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see Him, since Jesus was coming his way.' Lk 19:4

Panting relentlessly he scrambled for a vantage point that his height would never permit. A desperately pounding chest bellowing for relief. This soul now, nearly satisfied. The time was short. The opportunity brief. Those gnarly old boughs that grow so close from the ground were just the right height. His small frame would bring no stress to this well established tree.

Lightly skinned knees with warms drips of blood gave no pain. Below his tunic dangled tired thin legs. His feet visibly drowned in the dirt of Jericho. An injured body and large crowds no impediment to seeing Jesus for this man. His desire was immense. His effort equal to his desire. His deliberate decision well matched to his decisive efforts.

Correctly, he knew the search for Jesus can not be delayed.

Correctly, he knew the opportunity to meet Jesus can well be fleeting.

Correctly, he knew the imperative to give unrestrained tenacity to meet the Son of God.

When Jesus comes your way there is no effort too great to receive Him, for He may not come your way again. His desire is to meet you. His desire is that you will never be alone again. His desire is to visit you and attend to you.

Jesus will come your way. Jesus is coming your way. Jesus has come your way.

The way of Jesus, is to come your way.
