Soul Snack 9/68 ... Apologies to Is 53

With a heart of mystified wonder I thankyou Jesus that:

you bore my weaknesses,
you were burdened by my sorrows,
you were pierced and crushed for my sins,
you willingly received my punishment,
in your wounds alone I am healed,
silently (unjustly) you took my just dues,
your utter innocence did not hinder your giving,
you offered yourself for my unshakeable guilt and
His will alone found prosperity at your pierced hands.

How unknowably deep is your devotion - how unknowably great is my debt. Amen

he poured out his life unto death,
       and was numbered with the transgressors.
       For he bore the sin of many,
       and made intercession for the transgressors. Is 53:12b
