5 Rotten Fruits

Beware - for all that is studied is not truth.

Master's degrees are near mandatory now in all professional circles, while certificates and diplomas mushroom as pathways to employment which previously required no qualifications.

The Tree of Knowledge is a vine choking the world in an ever increasing bondage to continual study of its good and evil fruits. It especially distracts Christians from the study of the Tree of Life.

The Tree of Knowledge rewards conformity with qualifications, and non-conformity is punished by unemployment. It promises comfort and a fine future when shaped by its knowledge, for this is the only source of good employment. The Bible corrects such lies in Jesus' choice of apostles.

When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realised that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. (Acts 4:13)

The Tree of Knowledge dismisses or even lambasts knowledge that is not of it; i.e. the knowledge from the Tree of Life. There is faint accomodation at best for non-conformity to its good and evil fruits.

The Tree of Knowledge has constructed its own self-contained education system that deceitfully offers fruit to all, fruit that God Himself alone can give.

It promises:

  • illumination to wisdom - the industry of guidance, education and counsel to a correct living
  • healing - this is sourced from the science of medicine but still fails
  • rest - this too is the hope of science gilded with the promise of wealth.
  • glory - the more the academic success, the  more letters after your name, the greater the titles of honor, and
  • an a-la-carte salvation - there are many ways to heaven; choose your faith!

The Tree of Knowledge has pad locked mankind's mind and heart; they are imprisoned by the fruitless and the failing, with no insight into the eternal truths. It seduces while promising to introduce each diner 'to God's presence', so we leave aside the true God and pursue its false fruits.

There were two trees in the Garden of Eden - one has seduced us and other has saved us.
