Bread Alone?

Soul Snack 66/14 ... Man has learned to live upon bread alone, but this is not as God intended.

He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. (Deuteronomy 8:3)

Mankind has written his own menu, created his own diets, and crafted his own meals. BUT he has left out the most flavorsome and healthy of ingredients.

To eat without the Word of God is to first starve the soul and then to die.

Man sets his table with countless courses of tasty snacks. BUT when God sets the table it is feasting on the finest of fare. (Surely if each disciple truly believed this they would never miss a day without heaven's sweet food.)

The world promises feasts but they are only fasting to the soul. The delicacies of this world are a famine to the spirit.

Disciples still choose BBQs while God still offers banquets.

To enjoy the abundant life, dine daily on the sweetest of fare - the Word of God.

Today's Soul Snippet:

"It will cost something to walk slow in the parade of the ages, while excited men of time rush about confusing motion with progress. But it will pay in the long run and the true Christian is not much interested in anything short of that." ~ A. W. Tozer
