Enemy 2 ~ Uncrowning Covetousness#

Soul Snack 188/14 ... The helmet of covetousness crowns many a man's thinking.

It is the ongoing expression of dissatisfaction. It is predicated upon the unhelpful value that God has withheld some good from you.

Covetousness and dissatisfaction are cell-mates; partners in crime.

The gaining of objects, the human search for possessions is as long-lived as the sands of time.

Covetousness falsely trumpets a lasting betterment.

Contemplation with desire is the thieving playground of satan. Satan's purpose is the trampling of your spiritual affections.

A man is unable to possess heavenly treasures while clinging to the treasures of earth.

You can measure an object's importance when you can't give it away.

In the gathering of life's tinsels their shining delight soon dulls. This is a restlessness, wicked in its intent that wars against the soul as it casts the eyes downwards from heaven.

While I gaze at the things of life that pale, I will ever be blind to the Crown of Life which cannot.

And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away. (1 Peter 5:4)

It is those who are dead to this world, uncrowned from its rule that are alive in their spirit.

The soul that is buried to baubles neither is saddened at their absence, nor is warmed by their presence.
