Soul Snack 99/14 ... Jesus descended to the world of shattered dreams. He had long dreamt of the accused, the abused and the angry as His friends. Jesus attended this earth as no respecter of privilege, or seeker of position.
Reaching into the miry puddles of the earth's refuse, His generous eyes scanned worldwide to seek the lost, the least, the last and the lonely. Jesus spared no effort, not even life itself.
Deliberately he visited a world that would hinder, hurt and hate Him. Jesus gave notice to the haters with the horror of self-sacrifice.
Jesus has given the power to believe where others deny, and the love to live even when the tank is empty.
Grace bellows, you may be a disillusioned and saddened grasper of life, you may be insecure, rejected, mistaken or even pot-bellied … Grace bellows again, although you may panic, be depressed and have loneliness as your closest friend BUT ‘never confuse self perception with the mysterious truth that you are ALREADY accepted.'#
His grace was first brought to and then poured upon Calvary for the vagabond.
On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice. For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."(Matthew 9:12-13)
Jesus blessed the broken, the burdened and the battered with His heart for them - nothing has changed.
