Soaking the Soul's Wick

Complacency is an equal enemy to busyness for the disciple. Each lead to a spiritual negligence with the sure risk of faith's flame becoming snuffed out.

As with the five wise maidens (See Matthew 25:1-13) I must deliberately stock fuel for my lamp. It is being that precedes doing

When the soul's wick is soaked in spiritual ambition the flame of my lamp burns bright. The flame enjoys the fuel.

Refuse to mimic Esau's expensive foolishness and trade tomorrow for today; audit life with spiritual ambition, for this torches carnal ambition.

Spiritual ambition is the training of the mind for what the Spirit of the Lord desires, then the body shall surely follow suit.

Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. (Romans 8:5)
