WISDOM from ABOVE

Six centuries ago Martin Luther examined his heart. His report ended with ~ I more fear what is within me than what comes from without.

Men are often blind to the issues of their being. To scour the heart is to gain good warning.

A man's response to conflict reflects his soul.

A man's response to gold betrays his heart.

A man's response to glory reveals his spirit.

AND ... a man's response to a compliment echoes his heart and soul and spirit in unison.

The instruction of the wise flees those who do not love peace, are blinded by pennies or lured by power.

He who holds wisdom from above seeks truth and not sin in the inmost place. (See Psalm 51.6a)

Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. (James 3:13-18)

It is a fact that those whose lives are daily being conformed to the Word and purposes of God will be given the ability to see personal issues more clearly. ~ anon
