2 Almost Random Ideas
Frustrating those close-by me all too often is my undeniable ability to voice a sequence of apparently disconnected thoughts that swim in tandem through the wash behind my eyes.
Please forgive me if these two points below do not quite mesh, but nevertheless my simple prayer is they may be of some abiding value...
- To pursue the lingering desires of the heart apart from integrity, to ignore the magnet of faithfulness raises the chalice of poison to the lips ... it is unlikely much good will then arrive save the divine intervention of grace. Faithlessness carries its own penalties, as faithfulness carries its own rewards.
Could pain be greater than faith, that faith would be fled to escape pain? ~ GOD FORBID!
- The one book that humankind needs to immerse in, to know with the greatest of familiarity is the Bible. Its pure guidance will keep the reader from sin, surround the soul in safety and plant the body on the paths of righteousness. The Bible is the thief to sin and all sin's injuries.
Scribble no treaty with sin for it shall cost tomorrow, stand fast in grace today.
What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning, so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? (Romans 6:1-2)
