3 Favorite Verses from Psalms

The Psalms of King David and his son King Solomon (with others too) have brought eternal comfort to souls for 3000 years. The Psalms particularly speak to those in hardship.

The Lord's mercy often rides to the door of our hearts on the black horse of affliction. Jesus uses the whole range of our experiences to wean us from earth and woo us to Heaven. ~ Charles Spurgeon

The book of Psalms woos the reader to heaven. It is the Bible's pillow - that place to lay the head, the heart and the soul for rest. Here are just three of my go to verses.

  1. Lord, I love the house where You live, the place where Your glory dwells. ~ 26:8
  2. From the ends of the earth I call to You, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the Rock that is higher than I. ~ 61:2
  3. Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the Lord has been good to you. ~ 116:7

The psalms are written from the heart, there is little wonder that they still speak to the heart.
