A Python Parable

And the Lord explained:

The western world reclines on a pile of deadly comfort. There is a mountain of laundry and random cloth where men rest their heads and recline their bodies. The clothes and cloths are pillows of slumber. Underneath is a python quite settled but most alert. It is so large that it could first choke and then swallow leviathan. The end part, merely the tip of this python's tail protrudes unobserved from underneath the mountain of cloth. Its head and body remain covered, its fierce eyes glow brightly (but too unseen). Not one man senses danger. The tail glides lightly from side to side. The python is stirring, but those who sleep on its back care not for its presence, they feel no threat. From its stillness it has dulled the sense of all those who rest on it, ignorant to its life stealing intentions. As the python gently slides its tail about many men are unwittingly knocked over and injured, some die. These men do not know they have been hit by a serpent, a snake intent on choking mankind and then feeding upon them. The python is named homosexuality. It's ways are well beyond any righteous imagination.

NOTE:

The python (and boa) rate as the world's largest serpents. Pythons do not seek to poison as other snakes, but to entangle their prey such that it cannot escape. The python literally chokes the life out of its victims. Where there are serpents there is death.

The great dragon was hurled down – that ancient snake called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. (Revelation 12:9)

"One day, as we were going to the house of prayer, we encountered a young slave girl who had an evil spirit of divination, the spirit of Python. She had earned great profits for her owners by being a fortune-teller." (Acts 16:16)
