Christmas Poverty

Could the good Lord plead this Christmas time:

Please add faith, hope and love to the gifts you seek and give this Christmas. These will bring a great but unseen wealth to you, those you love and those you may meet.

But permit Me to remind you (so you may not miss the gifts and so I am not further banished) that they all come absent of any adornment, are found in a manger and are wrapped as I was - in poverty.

That 1st Christmas cost Jesus heaven, thank God it only costs us earth.

He who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple. (Luke 14:33)
