Driven to Holiness
Until you know that life is war you cannot know what prayer is for. ~ John Piper
Prayer is meant for men, that they should seek God. In a hunger for His holiness mens' trust are placed in Him, not their ways and means.
God is always seeking you. Every sunset. Every clear blue sky. Each ocean wave. The starry hosts of night. He blankets each new day with the invitation, ‘I am here’. ~ Louie Giglio
The souls of all men shelter that triple hunger for truth, certainty and eternity.
No man is satisfied by dwelling in many libraries, engaging in endless debate, or examining collective opinions. Such activity pretends to coach life's answers, yet men to this day continue in wandering across this earth's face hunting for wisdom. Wandering lives the curse of Cain, it cannot know peace. When fatigue and frustration results men shall call out to Heaven.
There is however a resting satisfaction upon the man who falls safe at the foot of the Cross. He will be out of the sight to others. He becomes sprinkled in the restful, healing, humbling, revealing, energising, forgiving and redeeming blood of Jesus, ...
his life becomes a state of holy desire. ~ Saint Jerome
