Emptying the Ego

Could an empty ego script a fuller prayer life?

My Father in heaven,

what do I have that is not of You,

what place of belonging is there away from You,

what grace may caress my days with a smile without first Your seeds?

No person, no principality, no power do You ever consult.

No person, no principality, no power can add or subtract from who You are.

No person, no principality, no power can change what You have already given me, and what You still have in store for me.

Father You are my all in all, my shade in the day and my light for the night.

Father You are my shield, my strong tower, my refuge.

Lord You are my cornerstone. I choose to build my life upon You.

My soul finds rest in You alone. It dwells beside Your hope.

You are my prayer in solitude, my passion in gatherings and my life today and forever. Thank You. AMEN

From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. (Psalm 61:2)

The enormous gift of Jesus is to fill me with Him alone.

... until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. (Ephesians 4:13)
