Finding Home after Christmas

Where was the home of the wise men who searched Jesus out - Babylonia or Arabia?

Their origins are as unclear as their guidance is clear, their home as unknown as their identity anonymous. Conjecture can bring no satisfaction, but seek the Lord they certainly did.

Yet these nameless and faceless men are known very well by their search. For 2000 years their journey to seek the infant Jesus has been acclaimed. Non-Jews seeking a Jew, and kings scouring the ancient sands for a baby king remains noteworthy. (See also Psalm 72:10 & Isaiah 60:3)

These men (as with all men) were living a destiny to death until they found Jesus. God had made it clear how they could find Jesus. God wanted Him found by these men. They followed the star.

God still makes the path to Jesus clear and wise men still seek Jesus.

With all the correct propriety and dignity of royalty, these unlikely seekers gave treasures and not trinkets to God now on earth.  It appears there was little restraint to their giving - a metaphor maybe of how Jesus would return the favor just three decades later?

And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.  (Matthew 2:12)

After meeting and giving to Jesus, God will always reveal to any wise man better ways to travel home through life.

In fact you can't meet with Jesus and worship Him in love and truth without having your ways changed.

When the wise meet with Jesus God changes their plans and directions.

Which way is home for you now?
