Grave Control#

The principle problem of living is life.

When all is said and done we humans are really children in a world plagued by sickness, loneliness and death.

Maturity suggests that:

control of life is as elusive as a lottery win

Age, if it is accompanied by wisdom informs each that we are much more vulnerable and confused than we imagined in our youth.

We know the roads to the doctor, even the hospitals but we haven't a clue how to get out of the grave. The older one gets the more important that becomes - without life nothing else matters!

I now reflect that the best years of my life were when I didn't feel I had to be in control.

This I have rediscovered since I was adopted by the Dad who flung the stars into place and opened the grave.#

When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, ‘Lazarus, come out!’ The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth round his face. Jesus said to them, ‘Take off the grave clothes and let him go.' (John 11:43-44)
