He Will Not Let You Sink

We all would love to sail through a storm and escape shipwreck.

Many times in life arise when we find little pleasure in our days; the wind buffets, the waves flood and the rocks beckon - all looks lost.

The poor seasons roll in as the waves when we feel we have lost the battles with our storms, but just as surely as Jesus controls our blessings He too controls our storms.

Peter and Jesus are the only two men in the history to walk upon water. Both were in a storm, in fact the same storm. Peter feared the storm, Jesus controlled it. (See Matthew 14:22-36)

We cannot escape from the storms of life!

But these storms lose their power, not only to injure but also to alarm when we hear hear the voice of Jesus and look for His outstretched arm explaining - it is I do not be afraid. (Annette Shankar)

Storms do not cause Jesus to weaken, flee or fear.

Jesus still walks to His own, stretches out His arm and calls to them above any raucous storm.

But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, ‘Lord, save me!’ ... Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. ‘You of little faith,’ he said, ‘why did you doubt?’ (Matthew 14:30-31)

As with Peter just look for Jesus, no matter how unclear He maybe, how unsure you are of His voice, or how high the waves - Jesus is still there.

He still walks on water and Jesus still will not let you sink.
