Heart to Heart

Soul Snack 156/14 ... A prayer from my heart for my heart:

Teach me your ways O Lord for I seek to humbly walk in your truth. The world divides my heart 'cos I still think it is my own. My trinkets and traumas roar at my heart. I remain in the troublesome persistence that it belongs to me. But I know earth won't capture my heart any longer when I see myself as you do, as heaven's citizen alone. I raise my eyes to you now that my heart will follow through. Amen

Teach me your way, O Lord, that I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. (Psalm 86:11)

To prayerfully jettison my heart is to eternally gain God's.
