How Not To Wear God Out!

To hold onto the plow while wiping the tears - this is Christianity! ~ Watchmen Nee

Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” (Luke 9:62)

Refuse to look back when engaged in God's call and following His leadings. Such is the nature of obedience.

Refuse to mimic the cantankerous generation that wore out God and Moses during forty years in the Desert of Sin.

Disobedience leads men to blindness, to simply lose direction, this is not safe. In the pain of disobedience disciples only travel in useless circles, raising their fists to Heaven, blaming Him for their rotten malaise.

Neither bring your past comforts or past condemnations into your present. In Jesus you are a new person, and love His righteous law unto obedience.

You released your past when you first fell to your knees before the Throne of Grace. And, when the sin is lost condemnation flees.

Next time satan whispers or screams to you of your past, gently (he hates gentleness) remind him of his future.

It is from obedience the disciple looks forward alone to the unseen city, the holy city, that eternal City of Peace.

Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them. (Hebrews 11:16)

There are no crown-wearers in heaven that were not first cross-bearers upon earth. ~ Charles Spurgeon
