Of Science & things

Soul Snack 100/12 ... Of Science & things

To the knowledgeable, the self-confident, the talented, the self-made and the purposefully proud an anonymous anecdote...

One certain day a group of scientists gathered and decided that man had made immense strides and no longer required the services of God. They chose one particularly awarded member to make this invaluable  information available to God.

As this scientist approached God, God intervened and explained He already knew what the scientist was about to say. Nevertheless this incorrigible human continued and explained God's dismissal to Him.

We can clone, we can heal, we can predict and even manage nature - get lost!

Graciously (as always) God listened with patience to this arrogance and then lightly suggested;

How about we have a man making contest? But, we are doing this like I made Adam.

No worries shot the reply that was as instant as it was bold.

When the scientist bent down to reach for the dirt God politely (as always) interrupted -

No, no, no, first you must make your own dirt... from nothing!

King Solomon was timelessly wise when he observed that pride's partner is disgrace (see Prov 11:2a).

Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? (1 Cor 1:20)
